We at Ballam Park Preschool acknowledge the Boon Wurrung People of the Kulin Nation as the traditional custodians of this land. We pay our respects to them for their care of the land on which we live today and our children and families play and learn on. We would like to pay our respect to Elders past and present, and welcome all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities to our Preschool.

At Ballam Park Preschool:

• We aim to provide high quality Early Childhood Education, full of valuable experiences with positive outcomes for all children.

• We are committed to provide your children with a nurturing, supportive, secure and fun environment, where children and adults collaborate together, share their learning and extend their knowledge.

• Our belief is children learn through play. We provide fun, exciting, spontaneous, hands-on, stimulating, relaxing, comforting and challenging experiences, where the children learn at their own pace.

• We believe it is important to provide opportunities for children to experiment, discover, explore, create, investigate, solve problems and express ideas with the support of their peers and the staff. We achieve this by using the Victorian Early Years Learning Framework and the National Early Years Learning Framework of Belonging, Being and of Becoming.

• Educational visitors and excursions extending children’s interests and supporting the program.

• We provide an all inclusive Preschool environment, recognising and respecting the diverse culture, traditions and beliefs within our community. We welcome and appreciate families’ participation and contributions to our Preschool community.

• We provide a strong foundation for the children’s social, emotional, spiritual, physical health and well being.

• A close working relationship with Ballam Park Primary School including regular visits for both Preschool and Primary School children and teaching staff.

We endeavour and are dedicated to embedding this into our everyday practice.
• We follow the Victorian Early Years Learning and Development Framework and the Australian National Quality Framework of ‘Being’, ‘Belonging’ and ‘Becoming’ for Early Childhood.

• Ballam Park Preschool is committed to child safety and complies with the Child Safe Standards as specified under the Child Safety and Wellbeing Act 2005 and also under the Child Safety and Wellbeing Amendment Act 2015.

We encourage this through providing a wide range of activities, experiences and open-ended materials, where our children are free to engage in ‘hands on’ exploration, investigation and discovery, flourishing at their own pace.
